Within the framework of the project “Organization of Cooperation of Small Cities of Ukraine, Civil Society and the Energy Expertise” on September 4, a Sustainable Energy Development and Climate Action Plan for 2030 was presented at the Executive Committee of Izium City Council. As the city of Izumo is a signatory to the European Initiative of the Covenant of Mayors, the Plan Working Group proposes measures to reduce CO2 emissions in the community at 30-35%. The draft document will be presented for public discussion and adopted at the session of the city council.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has decided to allocate 40 million euros to the State Export-Import Bank for lending to renewable energy. The EBRD is organizing a EUR 80 million syndicated loan to Ukreximbank to support private investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency in Ukraine. The EBRD itself decided to allocate 40 million euros as part of this project. 100% of the shares of PJSC Ukreximbank are state-owned. The closure of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant has transformed Slavutych's social infrastructure from a source of pride into a source of great expense.
